Trusses

Oak Truss Project – King Post Oak Trusses, Norfolk

Norwich Joinery were commissioned to manufacture bespoke King Post oak trusses for a project located on the outskirts of Norfolk. This structural oak truss project required high-quality craftsmanship, precision machining, and careful attention to the client’s specifications.

The green oak was fully planed and sanded to the required finished sizes, with the principal truss members machined to 220mm x 150mm, and the king post uprights produced at 250mm x 150mm. All components were prepared in-house to ensure accuracy, consistency, and a high-quality finish suitable for exposed structural oakwork.

Manufacture & Installation

Once machining and preparation were complete, the oak king post trusses were delivered to site and installed using a crane lift, allowing for safe and accurate positioning. Each truss was carefully set out, evenly spaced across the building, and securely fixed in place to ensure structural integrity.

Norwich Joinery also installed the oak purlins and carried out full checks to confirm that all king post trusses were true, level, and correctly aligned with the building structure.
